Nova's
Arizona School Mountain Bike Series has been extended to
May 17th. The series is going to wrap up along
side the MBAA State Series. This is the second year
for having a School Mountain Bike series in Arizona and it
is getting better as we go. We are hoping to spur some competition
by extending the series. This allows school teams to re-organize
and make a final effort in the last few races. About
half the kids competing in the Nova School Mountain Bike
series are from Flagstaff or in mountains & extending
the series also allows the mountain schools some spring
riding weather. Putting the series finals into the last
month of school before summer break also will encourage
some summer racing. Right now it is anybody's race, so
here is what your school needs to do if it wants to bring
home that huge Arizona State Championship!

Kenda comes through Again! |
 |
|
The NYCF is so thank
full for Kenda Tires and Tubes. Once again coming
through as a title sponsor for the 2008 NYCF School
Leagues. As we visit schools & walk into
classrooms the Kenda tires give us instant
attention. It really helps to have such a big name
sponsor stand behind the NYCF. The one place where
the sport of mountain biking is growing is in
schools and Kenda Tires and Tubes is directly
responsible! It would be very difficult to do what
we are doing with out them. Mom’s & Dads, I
know you have a choice when shopping for tires &
tubes, buy Kenda!

MBAA Supports Kids
Racing!
The
Mountain Bike Association of Arizona (MBAA) runs the
National Off-Road bicycle Associations (NORBA) series for
the state of Arizona.
NORBA is the national organization that qualifies
athletes for the Olympics. Her is how MBAA is working with
the NYCF to support youth cycling! For Info on MBAA? See www.mbaa.net
· All
the MBAA races will be NYCF supported races. This means
kids racing for their school will get NOVA prizes and
awards in the NYCF school series at all MBAA races!
· MBAA
has created a scholarship fund for kids racing in the NYCF
school league. NYCF members will only pay $10 to race!
· The
MBAA scholarship fund will also help pay for summer
mountain bike camps!
· For
help the NYCF volunteers contributed last year the MBAA is
giving away 25 MBAA memberships! We are taking the first
25 kids that signed up & will work our way down the
list until all 25 are filled.
· We
need your help! The NYCF has a great working relationship
with the MBAA. To keep a good thing going we need
volunteers for MBAA races. If your kids are racing &
your taking advantage of the MBAA generosity please give
back & volunteer to help at MBAA races! Contact
Hayley Wihongi wchjw@msn.com
to put your name on the volunteer list.
